The story
Delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic, and now coming 2022
Picking up the very minute that Entanglement ends, Transference follows the same characters as before, as they tackle a problem that's messing with reality itself, and which if it isn’t stopped, could lead to entire worlds starting to disappear
The inspiration
I started writing Transference in the days following the launch of Entanglement, with a vague idea of the spine of the story, courtesy of my friend Dave. Even with that though, which posited something different to Entanglement, I quickly found that I was slipping into the second album trap of telling the same story all over again
When the notion of a timeline that partially overlaps with Entanglement hit me though, things started to fall into place. It's a device used in two of the Bourne movies, which I love, and although I hope you'll agree it works here, it made the story challenging to write while maintaining continuity between the two novels
In the end though, what pulled the story together, was also the question as to whether we ever really know the impacts of our actions, and what we'd do if we found them out
So, complex at times, yes, but hopefully still funny, and for goodness sake, please don't read the last page first 🙂
